BAY AREA CAPITAL CONNECTIONS III
Seeking Asian and Minority Owned/Led Companies Interested in Making a Pitch for VC/Angel Funding
Asian and other minority-owned or led companies that have innovative scalable business models and are raising VC/angel financing can apply for a special opportunity to make a fundraising pitch to a panel of top-tier investors at Bay Area Capital Connections III: Investment and Business Resources for Companies in Urban Markets, a conference to be held on October 24, 2008 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.
Investors on the panel and in the audience will include representatives from some of the Bay Area's leading angel investment groups and VC firms. We will select the top applicants to make a presentation to the investor panel and the general audience. This will be an excellent opportunity to get exposure to a large number of potential investors in one setting.
Application procedures and selection criteria can be found below and at www.allianceforcommunitydevelopment.org/news.html We are looking for management teams that can produce strong financial returns for investors and are interested in providing positive benefits for Bay Area residents as the company grows--e.g. the creation of new local jobs for both professional and non-professional employees.
Conference Information: Date/Time: Friday, October 24, 2008, 8AM - 6:30PM Location: Computer History Museum, 1401 N. Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View Description: A 1-day event that provides educational workshops, keynotes from Asian business leaders, and networking opportunities for fast-growing businesses who seek VC/angel capital and private investors. This is the third annual conference after 2 very successful events in San Francisco in 2006 and San Jose in 2007. While the focus in 2008 is attracting Asian CEOs/entrepreneurs and private investors, the conference is open to all attendees. We expect 300+ attendees. The conference provides an excellent opportunity for start-up, early stage, and expansion stage CEOs to learn about accessing equity capital and to meet private investors.
